    • The two-week early voting period for the Nov. 7 election began yesterday. Voters can cast their ballots at any of the four Wise County early voting locations: the main early voting site at the Women’s Building at the Wise County Fairgrounds, 3101 S. Farm Road 51 in Decatur, the Bridgeport Community Center, 1102 Lawdwin Ave., Boyd Community Center, 420 E. Morton Ave., and Alvord City Hall, 215 W. Elm. Voting hours today through Friday are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Included on the ballet for Paradise is Mayor, Place 4, and Place 5. Also included on the ballet is the ESD-3 and several statewide propositions. Don’t forget to go vote! Your voice is important!

    • Starting around 6am Friday 9-22 Oncor crews will be changing out the pole that burned (causing the extended outage) on Hwy 114 near the Donut shop.  Tree trimmers will be doing work in the immediate area at the same time to clear vegetation on the Oncor lines.  NO wide-spread interruption of electricity is expected during these repairs.  There will be construction equipment along Hwy 114 while work is in progress so please proceed with caution.  Work is expected to take 8 hours.  Oncor appreciates the understanding of residents while these repairs are made and infrastructure is upgraded to support the electrical needs of the town.
